" Our ships are huge, our weapons are powerful, our technology is superior to all and you ask why we find other races inferior? "
The Flagritz are one of the oldest alien races around, They were introduced at the start of the game as a NPC race to give the small human affiliation something to untie and fight against. It wasn't long before the Flagritz became player run and since then they have had a eventful time within the game.
The Flagritz are descendants of an alien race called the Flagritzi. The Flagritzi live in a galaxy billions of light years away which with even there technology would be impossible to reach from our galaxy. This distant galaxy is also inhabited by other highly evolved and advanced races such as the Felini and the T'cath as well as the oldest and strongest race the Architects. The Flagritzi operate on a cast basis, but this cast system has been in built into there genetics meaning that a new Flagritzi child is born into a cast with all the skills and motivations to serve in his or her cast. Whenever a cast suffers a major loss of members the rest of the Flagritzi sense this and the proportion of children born to that cast increase. The Flagritzi do not resemble the usual human like form that most races have evolved into, instead they have evolved into larger pear shaped aliens. They have focused there skills on space ships and are probably the best pilots around, however due to there size and lack of mobility they are weaker at ground combat. In order to protect themselves they have created robots of amazing intelligence to perform these tasks for them.
The year is 192 in our calender and the Flagritzi are fighting a devastating war with the Felini. The great council of the Flagritzi is worried that although they are holding there own and successfully defending there territory the Warrior cast is greatly under strength and replacements aren't enough, soon the tide will turn. The Flagrtizi need resources and worlds to keep the war effort up and to eventually be strong enough to destroy the Felini. To aid the Flagritzi in the exploration effort the Trading cast took over the role of explorers. In the past this was a job done by the warriors but none could be spared. They created a new ship the Scout, based on the warrior classes small Gunships that supported the Warships. After two months of pointless searching the Trading cast had acquired some great skills in exploration and were almost as good as the warriors. They improved on the Scout by creating the Scout explorer a faster more efficient version of the Scout. Before the new ships had been properly introduced a scout discovered a wormhole forming close to one of there outer colonies. The Flagritzi believed there prayers had been answered and halted there exploration of other sectors in order to get as many ships to the wormhole to begin exploration when it finally formed. A few days later the first scouts went through the wormhole to find themselves in a huge galaxy practically uninhabited. It was not long before they were engaged by alien ships during there travel, The biggest of these was only slightly bigger then there scouts but as the Flagritzi ships were not designated warships like there enemies they did not hold out well. The Warrior cast was asked to support the Trading cast, the new galaxy was a worthy prize and it would be the deciding factor in the war effort. The trading cast stopped production of the scout explorer and with the help of the diplomatic cast they began working with the Warrior cast to build Gunships and Baseships to use in the new campaign. Gunships would be run by the Trading cast who were now skilled in small ship combat while Baseships would be jointly operated by the Diplomatic and Warfare cast, this lead to only a slightly less efficiency in there operation and the warrior cast would not be depleted so quickly. As Production was slow the new tri-cast alliance were unable to field many Baseships initially. Single Baseships although dwarfing there alien counterparts ships were no match for there colony defenses and were easily beaten back. They began to group there Baseships in squadrons of three which had much more effect and destroyed many colonies. As the war effort was going well the Flagritzi began transporting supplies and setting up there own colonies. There was even talk in the great council of moving there entire civilization there and destroying the wormhole thus ending the Felini war. As the Flagritzi slowly destroyed there enemy the wormhole closed leaving the exploration core and the initial transports stranded. The fate of the Flagritzi is not known but after weeks of searching the Flagritzi realized they were cut of for good. They withdrew into the Inferno system and made peace with there neighbors forming the Flagritz Republic.
The republic grew strong in peace however a year ago the ruling council (which was dominated by the warrior cast) insisted on a war with the humans. They believed them inferior and it was a disgrace to live at peace. Unfortunately there enemies had got much stronger and the Flagritz were fought to a stalemate. A temporary cease fire was agreed upon and the Flagritz began to rebuild there war machine. It was not long before the war started again and this time they were faced by 5 affiliations. After some of the largest battles ever to happen in the game the Republic was defeated. The Flagritz left Inferno there spiritual home and only link to there past and settled in Twilight and in the cluster. Further events lead to the loss of the colonies in Solo and almost there Yank colonies but some how the Flagritz managed to stay in the game. At the end of 199 the Resurrection order took over the running of the empire. A cult made up of the other smaller casts that were reappearing they began to rebuild the republic and securing the Flagritzi survival. They introduced a new ship the Resurector to aid in the rebuilding and defense of the Flagritz and over the last few months have made the Flagritz into a strong affiliation again. Rumors have it the Resurrection order was behind the removal of the CLN colony in the cluster which shared a planet with 2 FGZ colonies but nothing could be proved. What can be sure is they have secured the FGZ from all there enemies and once again the FGZ is not to be messed with.
The FGZ due to there unique genetic code are made up of explorers, traders, colonizers and warriors all of which play a vital role in the rebuilding of the empire. With some very hand abilities and technologies the FGZ are a very unique race to play, what they will do in the future is uncertain but is likely to affect the entire galaxy......
