The Dominion was introduced in the second year of the game as another human affiliation for people to join. However their unique abilities and the original members playing style has molded the Aff into something very special.

The Dominion are survivors of Humanity's first experiments with Jump Engines. Since space travel was in its very early experimental stages at the time, 'expendables' were sent in the first ships. Thus a good mix of criminals, political intellectuals and extreme social cases and other 'undesirables' were sent out. The fate of most of the ships in this period is not known today. Some of the ships made it safely through their first jump, but they lost contact with Earth and was stranded in whatever part of space their ended up in. One such ship was 'The Dominion' which ended up in what is known as the Cluster today. Later studies showed that the ship had ended its jump right in the moth of the wormhole which at the time was not known about and had been transported through into the cluster. The ship continued its travels and ended up crash landing in Avalon. At that time the Clan who ruled the Cluster was in the middle of a bitter war and left the Dominion alone. The Dominion began to evolve into a unique Society were no laws or morales would stand in the way of the survival of the group. This has given the Dominion a strong will to survive, and they have evolved many Traits that set them apart from the Humans coming from the Inner Empire. After acquiring a strong Power base the Dominion began a rapid expansion in the surrounding systems of Wolf, Lucifer and eventually Beach which they renamed Void due to the destruction it had suffered. And so the DOM prospered, it began intense exploration of its new home and a research program to regain and better lost technologies. It was not long before the Attack Cruiser design was finished, a ship more suited to the Dominion's needs (later renamed the MAn'O'War).

In 195 human vessels located the wormhole and the Dominion was reunited with its lost race. However due to the many years of evolving on its own the Dominion found it did not want to integrate back into the rest of the empire and kept to itself staying neutral between the Imperials and the Confederates war. When the DOG appeared and warned about the future Clan take over of the galaxy the DOM aided the DOG but were defeated along with their allies and were forced to leave the Cluster never to return...

It was not long till they reestablished themselves and joined forces with the DTR another human group of outcast (at least politically) and the DEN a group of Aliens. This formed the 3D alliance. This allowed the DOM to rapidly expand all over the galaxy making them many times strongest then they ever were in just a short few years. During this time they fought against the Hexamon alongside the DEN and against the FGZ along side the empire. More recently they have re entered the cluster and with the help of the DEN defeated their old enemies the Clan in order to once again setup in their old systems. Rumor has it that the DOM have discovered several systems of their own, one in particular that could change the galaxy!

The DOM are always expanding and are always prepared for a fight, they remain in the background but their interests are everywhere. Like most affiliations they are always exploring building colonies and preparing for wars however they are well established and are not to be messed with.

DOM Abilities:-

1) The DOM are able to load 25% more stuff in any ship they operate so each Hull carries 25mu's instead of the usual for other affiliations.

2) The DOM can apply a fourth coat of Processed Thorlium to their ships.

3) The DOM are the only affiliation able to produce the Disrupter.

4) the DOM operate the Man'O'War 20/60/20 B.S. 1.8 or 1.4 in DOM hands.
