The Felini are a relatively new affiliation introduced in 199, they replace the previous Bast alien race the Clan. They also allow access to old systems previously belived unreachable.

The Felini developed on the warm planet known as Pride in the Leonis system. This world having no moon was believed to be the center of the universe. While the atmosphere was humid and perpetually mist shrouded, the stars were virtually always concealed so astronomy was never developed until after many other technologies.

Even after civilization formed permanent settlements and use of nuclear power began, the lack of astronomy and even less knowledge about other worlds meant that war for territory was quite common.

Their first encounter with aliens took the form of the Architects (ARC). These removed a number of the Felini and left. There was no communication with the ARC by the Felini and due to the lack of interplanetary technology no way of preventing them. Nothing was heard from either the ARC or the Felini again. This though produced the necessary boost that saw the Felini enter into space exploration. First they discovered Prey, then the wormhole.

The worm hole, at that time was in a period of instability and no doubt accounted for some of the Felini ending up in distant systems with no way of returning. This might well be part of the truth behind the Clans. Eventually though the wormhole connected to the system that was to be named Battlefield. The reason for this is that it placed them in direct conflict with the Flagritzi.

For the next few decades the war with the Flagritzi continued. This was sustained by the mechanics of the wormhole. For half the year it was connected to the Flagritzi Empire, the rest of the time to Leonis. Thus neither side was able to hold the Battlefield system while connected to the enemy.

Finally, the Flagritzi were able to get hold of stable wormhole technology and directly invaded the Leonis system with everything they had. The Felini having prepared for something like this due to hints they had got during the war retreated to previously built space stations and secret asteroids. Then they launched an ambush. This resulted in the resurfacing of Pride but smashed the last armada of the Flagritzi. Hundreds of thousands were taken prisoner on both sides but the Felini gained complete control of their system. Further though, the remnants of the Felini Fleet proceeded on to the Flagritzi home system knowing that the Flagritzi had overextended themselves. They were never heard from again. It is certain they did not win but it would appear they succeeded in their suicide mission - they managed to destroy the stable wormhole generator. Thus preventing the Flagritzi from further direct access to the Leonis system.

This was two years ago. The situation now is one of rebuilding. They have fought off the Flagritzi but know that they have not annihilated them. The Felini had temporarily abandoned the Battlefield system but occasionally sent a ship to investigate but so far there have been no signs of the Flagritzi. So in this time the Felini mourn for a devastated home-world. With Leonis' traditional resources exhausted, they must search for any asset. Exploration of Leonis and Battlefield is of prime importance, as is the rebuilding of secure colonies and the tattered fleet.

The Felini are ruled by the Tyrant; Mawet. Who's word is law in Felini Society. The Tyrant is supported by two Avatars; Targon Grax responsible ultimately for Ship co-ordination and Exploration. And Mrrshan - responsible for Colonization and Industrial Development. So in these days, the Felini have several areas of immediate interest including exploration of there systems and the rebuilding of there civilization and industrial power-base.

It is a time for the bold and adventurous to stand forth. A bright future beckons for all Felini........

FEL Abilities:-
At the moment the Felini's abilities are unknown, this is due to secrecy on the Felini's part and the fact that they have not been finalized yet. However the Felini are believed to be a ground combat based affiliation with similar abilities to the CLN.
